Support the Women’s Prize today and become part of our story

Known as the Orange Prize for Fiction between 1996 and 2012 and the Baileys Prize for Fiction between 2014 and 2017, the Women’s Prize for Fiction is today one of the best-loved literary awards in the world. The Prize is awarded annually to an outstanding full-length work of fiction that demonstrates excellence, quality, originality and accessibility. Authors of any nationality, any age, any country of residence or origin, of any sexuality, of any physical ability, writing in any genre are eligible.

There are two levels of involvement, Patrons for a £1000 donation, and Prize Circle Patrons for a 3-year commitment of £5000 a-year.

Now embarking on our next, exciting chapter, you can support our charitable objectives which seek to honour & celebrate the widest possible range of women’s voices and stories from all over the world. We do this by:

  • shining a spotlight on overlooked and forgotten women’s stories, and promoting gender equality
  • using the power and brand of the Women’s Prize for Fiction to support literacy, research and educational initiatives to help inspire the readers & the writers of tomorrow
  • providing a year-round digital platform for women’s voices and offering a range of live events, encouraging debate between readers & writers.

*We are currently registering the Prize as a Charity and will be able to claim Gift Aid on your donation. If you are a UK taxpayer, for every £1 you donate to the Women’s Prize Trust, we can claim an additional 25p from HMRC at no extra cost to you. So, for example, if you donate £1000, this will be worth £1250 to the Women’s Prize Trust – that’s an extra £250 to help us put gender equality at the heart of literature programmes.
